Christina Soriano returns to Music Carolina Summerfest for the fifth time to present her second large scale work choreographed with an intergenerational cast featuring 30 dancers aged 4 to 86. The performance featured live accompaniment by Martha Bassett, her band, and the Dan River Girls, playing an extended collection of music by the late Patsy Cline. The ensemble included dancers from Ms. Soriano’s community class of people living with Parkinson’s Disease and their carepartners; older adults enrolled in her 2017 Summer Lifelong Learning course; children from Arts Based Elementary School; children from Wake Forest’s Community Ballet School program; professional dancers in the Winston-Salem dance community, including UNCSA dance alumni; as well as WFU Dance faculty and WFU Theatre and Dance students. The event took place in Brendle Recital Hall on Wake Forest University’s Scales Fine Arts Center.
