An Evening with Michel van der Aa

In March 2018, Louis Goldstein invited contemporary classical superstar composer/filmmaker/director Michel van der Aa (who was in the US working with the Dallas Opera on his 3-D multi-media opera Sunken Garden) to Wake for a two-day residency. van der Aa spoke with classes in Music, Film, and Theatre–especially focusing on the incorporation of film into live music/theatre/opera and presented a Lecture/Demonstration at Brendle Recital Hall.  Louis Goldstein opened the Lec/Dem program by performing one of van der Aa’s early works entitled, “Transit.”
